The US Department of State has announced that Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery 2012 results declared on the DV website in early May are now void.
It is learnt that the results were cancelled due to a computer-programming problem because of which the selection process had not been random.
The results therefore were against US laws and have been cancelled, sources confirmed.
The results of the new selection process—to be conducted based on the original entries for the 2012 program, will be available on the website on July 15, 2011.
Entries to the lottery remain valid and there is no need for re-applying, the embassy said. The confirmation number to check results also remains valid.
