Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Nepal (MJF-N) Co-Chairman J.P. Gupta formed a new party called Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Ganatantrik (MJF-G) under his leadership on Monday.
It is learnt that Gupta detached himself from the MJF-N after MJF-N participated in the CPN-UML-UCPN (Maoist) coalition government.
“We had to form a new party after MJF-N Chairman Upendra Yadav transgressed the party’s decisions and principles,” Gupta told eKantipur.
He informed that 13 lawmakers from the MJF-N have supported the decision.
The lawmakers include Bishwonath Prasad Yadav, Akwal Ahmed Sah, Sarita Kumari Sah, Salma Khatoon Mikrani, Atmaram Prasad Sah, Om Prakash Yadav, Chandrika Prasad Yadav, Rajwal Yadav, Nandan Kumar Dutta, Sabita Devi Yadav, Raj Kishor Yadav, and Sandhya Devi.
With the 13 lawmakers supporting the new party, MJF-G has emerged as the second biggest party from the Madhes.
